Round The Reader won't be late. Surprisingly enough, I made it up out of bed very early this morning. So here it is for October 15, 2005, Round The Reader:

This little fictitious piece from A.M. Siriano will either crack you up or totally piss you off. It cracked me up. Who says we conservatives can't make fun of ourselves?

Bob Parks tells us how we can win the war on terror, and takes a look at one of the President's speeches. He also calls out the Democrats and askes them, "what's YOUR plan?" -

And here's a snippit from his latest article. This is something I have been saying for a long time now.

First of all if it were up to me, I would expel all embedded reporters from the war zone. Despite the egos of our journalist class, our latest enemy's bullets don't swerve around people with press credentials. Especially with political correctness removing the word “terrorist” from certain press outlet spell checks, getting agenda-driven news off the air is essential.

FINALLY, someone saying it like it is in regards to this whole Harriet Miers nomination. When I was over at Common Sense Runs Wild and read her post about Harriet Miers I knew I had to make it part of this edition of RTR. Quote...

Let's face it, this entire kerfuffle is much less about Harriet Miers than it is about egos of the people criticizing the nominee.

Yes, the opinionated blogosphere is here to stay. Now, repeat that sentence as necessary until you start believing it yourself. Moonbat Monitor has convinced me while giving ole Walter boy a tongue lashing.

Earlier in the week I had posted a test by Donegal Express titled, "Are You A Cultural Catholic?"; now Tom tells us exactly what it means to be a Cultural Catholic. I have saved this one and plan on re-reading it several times. I believe it to be a keeper and a classic to come.

Want more Round The Reader? Are they saying the weekend crew can't handle this event? I tell ya, I used to really like Fox and Friends, but lately....the past year or so? They have seen my destruction before my friend. I have even made them participate in my "evil plan" for peace. It is I who has the last word and my actions have been made known. Just two weeks ago my whirlwind devastation took place, purging man-acquired tokens of superficial quality that seemingly established itself around the domain permanently. They know of what I can do to them, yet they go on about their business not giving a care to the world.

Oh OK, I'm just going off to clean the kids' rooms. Actually I have already done the Manchild's room. Next, is Glorious Girlchild and you'd THINK her room would not be so terrible....WRONG!

As stated previously I have already cleared out their rooms two weeks ago, donating a ton of stuff to hurricane people. And yet, here they are again...a wreck. I told the children when we cleaned them up, together, that the next time I come in one of their rooms and things are thrown about and tossed on the floor that I was going to pick it up and trash it. Well...guess what? I have followed through with my threat and the Magnificent Manchild has not yet discovered that I have thrown out his coveted Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Yes, they were thrown all about on the floor and I let them stay there for 24 hours before picking them up this morning and promptly throwing them in the trash can. See if I buy him any more EXPENSIVE Yu-Gi-Oh cards! Nope. Nadda. Zilch. Zero. No more.

I am afraid to see what I will find in Glorious Girlchild's room. Wait...did I just say afraid? NO! I am not afraid! Actually I am looking forward to taking HUGE trash bag into said room and just start stuffing. HA! Yes, I am EVIL MOTHER.

The iron infusion I had a week and a half ago must REALLY be kicking in today!

Fall Break my ass.

Cotillion And King Of Cotillion

First, our regular Cotillion Tuesday is hosted by North American Patriot. I keep stupid hours, so it could be 4am, for all I know.

On with the parade of hunks:

{UPDATE} This guy didn't submit his picture or blog but he should have!!!!

The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler

Hardcore Conservative

MacStansbury

Blog Idaho

Bullwinkle - Random Numbers

Mark - Mark My Words

Hubris

Timmer - The Daily Brief

Gregg - Impacted Widsom Truth

Casey - The Gantry Launchpad

Patriot Xeno - Right Hand Of God

Citizen Grim - Right Hand Of God

Alan Woody - Woody's News & Views

Xavier - Xavier Thoughts

Jay - Stop The ACLU

Masked Menace - Villainous Company

Thunder6 - 365 And A Wakeup

Rick - Brutally Honest

Now, GO VOTE! You can take back your state, county, city. Stand up and be heard and run the ACLU out of your town. There is hope after all. Most people can't afford to do that.

Backed by community support and often by community demands, some school officials are reluctant to halt stadium-wide prayer prior to high school football games though they know they are violating federal law.

"I know what the courts said," said first-year Etowah High principal John Serafino, who inherited a school that has never stopped allowing students to conduct a prayer over the stadium intercom prior to all Etowah High football games. "We choose to go by community standards.

"Religion and football go hand-in-hand in this state. A prayer before a football game is part of Southern sports.[....]

Can I get an "amen"? The ACLU has an affiliate site/blog up titled, "Take Issue, Take Charge" and their latest crusade is "protecting your reproductive freedom" which is such a joke to me because they say the Abstinence-Only-Until-Marriage Curricula is DANGEROUS! Yes, that's right, they said DANGEROUS!

Oh my, choosing NOT to have sex before marriage is just terrible and DANGEROUS according to the dumbasses at your ACLU.

According to a recent report prepared for Representative Henry A. Waxman (D-CA), many abstinence-only-until-marriage curricula used by federally funded programs contain false and misleading information and perpetuate harmful stereotypes. Perhaps most alarmingly, these curricula misrepresent the effectiveness of contraceptives by vastly understating the effectiveness of condoms at protecting against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and preventing unintended pregnancy. Such misinformation is particularly alarming given that each year in the United States, nearly 9.1 million 15-24 year olds are infected with an STD and more than 800,000 15-19 year olds become pregnant.

Well, does the ACLU know the meaning of abstinence? Hello? I bet the ACLU has stock in Trojan, or some other condom manufacturer.

Not only is the cirriculum dangerous according to the ACLU, but it appears to be unsafe as well....

ACLU affiliates in 18 states called on local officials to keep unsafe abstinence-only-until-marriage programs out of the classroom.

Yeah, no sense in teaching this DANGEROUS and UNSAFE course to students. No, let's not teach them something like abstinence for crying out loud. For the ACLU being all big on choice, they sure don't want our kids to have a choice in abstinence.

Here's a clue as to WHY they don't want this abstinence taught in the classroms...

“For too long the federal government has funded abstinence-only-until-marriage curricula that are based on ideology and religion rather than science,” said Jennifer McAllister-Nevins, State Strategies Attorney for the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project and Not In My State campaign coordinator.

Anti-Christian group that the ACLU is, there ya have it. They don't care anything about the abstinence being taught, it's the moral standards supporting abstinence in which they take issue.

Hey, here's a thought...if the ACLU is so much for my choice then why not teach both and let the parents decide which course their child will sign up for? I personally do NOT want sex education taught in schools period, because of crap like the ACLU pulling right now. I am very capable of teaching my own child about the birds and the bees, thank you very much.

Another reason the ACLU is up in arms about the abstinence program being taught in schools...

In addition, many of these programs promote gender stereotypes, discriminate against gay and lesbian youth and all too often proselytize on the public’s dime.
There you have it, not only are they anti-christian but they are anti-heterosexual.

Full Load Of Crap

This whole thing started over at Merri's Musing by the way. Although she is talking about some other program they want taught in public schools; a little course about tolerating homosexuality - go read it!

Tag: ACLU

Yeah, What She Said...

Found a wonderful post over at The Cotillion. Just poking around on the DNC site I found Dean's thoughts on meeting with Cindy Sheehan.

She is a delightful person. She had not a drop of holier than thou zealotry. She is unpretentious and very clear. All this I expected, given the terrible sacrifice she has made, and her willingness to speak out.

...the terrible sacrifice she has made? What the hell? She has made no sacrifice Mr. Dean. Her son volunteered to serve this great country of ours to give people like you, and his own mother, the "right and freedom" to say things like, "...we are a strong country because we have the right to dissent." Your own words. So the next time you use the word sacrifice in a sentence you'd better be speaking of Army Spc. Casey Sheehan. It did not go unnoticed that you made no mention of this man, in your little blog, who truly sacrificed for you Deanoboy.

Yeah, trackbacks are enabled over there. I swear I still don't understand the meaning of this "fall break" here in the south; it is the ONE thing I can't stand down here in Alabama. Makes no sense to me to have this "fall break", it serves no purpose whatsoever and it is stupid! And yes you are damned skippy I can sit here and complain about it because when the school board put this out here to the parents for a discussion and vote you know I spoke my mind AND VOTED AGAINST IT! But I digress...

The real reason I wanted to post this morning is to promote two blogs. One I have only recently discovered, the other is a regular reader and commenter here at The Gray Tie and I have only just now blogrolled her; shame on me.

OK first up is MindMatter, an honest and welcoming refreshment to the blogworld. Well, at least in my blogworld. She's probably already famous and I'm just now getting around to noticing. I am slow at times. Please, go read and blogroll and comment; tell her I said "hello", please.

Next let me link up I Am My Kids Mom. This blogger has been a steady reader and commenter on my blog. I encourage you all to visit her on a regular basis.

The above mentioned blogs are inspiring to me because they are honest and gutsy. Something I started with a long time ago but then turned "all business like" for various reasons. Maybe if I keep reading these two women I can get back to that someday; the being honest and real and myself part.

Oh and in other news - I am going to college in January! It's official now. My first classes will be American Lit. I, Sociology, Public Speech, Appreciation to Theatre, and some kind of class that deals with manipulating numbers; yuck.

I am very grateful that I will get to attend school full time. I am an English major - still can't get used to saying that, and our community college has a great two year English program. After completing two year plan I will then transfer to four year college. I would like to get into the publishing world, more specifically book publishing.

Enough already! Have a great day.

Marzipan Babies

And now for something completely different.

A friend sent these pictures to me. I would like to thank the ladies for entrusting me with such a privilege. While not all the debutantes are here today it doesn't mean they are not participating in their own lovely and mischievous ways; you'll have to go and find out. You'll be pleasantly surprised. However, I don't think the surprise is on the main website. But check out the blogroll.

On with a somewhat regular Cotillion posting.

This would hardly be a Cotillion without one of these fine ladies doing her homework and giving us a lesson in the Constitution and commenting on the President's Judicial Nomination of Harriet Miers to Supreme Court.

MaxedOutMama comes out with guns blazing against "active liberty" a la
Justice Breyers and for the idea that the words in the Constitution mean
what they say.

And then we have Annika's Journal where she is talking about writing <strike>the next</strike> THE bestselling Great American Graphic Novel where it will deal with sex, death, space alien bunnies, cursing, saving people, gratuitous violence and of course the occasional mention of bullet shaped titties. Yeah, you read it right. Annika claims to be in a blogging slump but I think not! Sounds good to me, too. She even has a cover designed for the novel, hehehehehe.

Baldilocks rolls in next with more reporting by the big media and racism of the Katrina aftermath. She certainly has made me view it in a-whole-nother perspective. I will certainly agree with her about the big media being lazy. Refreshing point of view, thank you Baldilocks for your much needed words.

WHOA! HA! I don't think so. Janette, from Common Sense Runs Wild, has a post up about revolving door panties and home DNA tests. And what does this have to do with Amber Frey you ask? Apparently, the "duped" guy paying for child support on Amber's first child is NOT his.

Previously, I had linked this next entry on my site. But trust me when I tell you it is worth repeating. The American Princess turns the table on the pro-choice people who are all over the "racist" Bill Bennett with an article titled, Bush Is Wrong, It's A Logical Conclusion. Kinda makes you go "hmmm". Nicely done Princess!

RightGirl hands the reins over to her new sidekick - MustControlFistOfDeath. Here's her story about a friend stuck out in California, trying to maintain his sanity among the terrorist-loving, andti-Bush Hollywood weaklings.

Do you think "Come kill me now, I deserve it" t-shirts would be popular? Do you think they would be popular in California? I'd spend my last dime on getting these t-shirts printed up to send them out to the freaking tree-hugging, bleeding-heart, self-indulgent, high on life hippie of a liberal morons. Girl On The Right reports about a friend out there in "that" land trying to survive. God Bless him.

TFS Magnum tells the story of how the women in Kashmir village formed a militia (Village Defense Committee) to stave off attacks from Pakistani raiders.

[...more...] I wonder what the gun-grabbing left has to say about this. Do these women have the right to defend themselves against rape? Do they have the right to protect the stores of food they and their families need to survive? Or should they "retreat" or "give the criminal what he wants," they way so many are advised?

Oh my goodness! I am so glad I volunteered to host this week's Cotillion and stayed up late doing this entry. This last Cotillion debutante is TRULY royalty! What a lovely story she has told to us tonight. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. Grab your Kleenex ladies! Simply AMAZING!!!!! She calls herself Bobo Blogger, or Oddybobo if you will.

Well, after reading that last submission I really can't think of anything else to say. Hope you enjoyed this week's Cotillion.

Lord, I am so nervous to hit the publish button!

Freedom Of Speech My Ass

With all of the Bill Bennett media madness happening it has occurred to me, with a force of a 2 x 4 slapped upside my head, that this country’s free speech is becoming non existent. The sensitive, thin-skinned liberals, the political correct crazies, the delusional, self-centered Hollywood cry babies, and the ACLU, are making it impossible for anyone to speak the truth.

What are we to do about the above mentioned people who live for pointing fingers and resort to name calling all in the name of their political views? They will have you believe they are protecting your freedom of speech, but are they? The only free speech they are protecting is their own foul mouthed, cold hearted, empty headed, misguided, self serving, ill intentioned souls.

Someone they don’t agree with says something, like Bill Bennett, and they have a field day; shredding and twisting the words around to fit their political agenda, yes political agenda. And what makes it worse is this media of ours going along for the ride. But I digress.

To be fair, I suppose the leftards have the freedom to call Bill Bennett a racist, George W. Bush a terrorist, and anyone supporting our military a coward. Get a load of these losers,
[….pathetic….] Any American who is for the continued occupation of Iraq, yet has not signed up to go take the place of a man who wants to come home is a pathetic coward and hypocrite.
The bastards, yeah I can name call with the best of ‘em. They have their comments enabled, go give them a taste of real freedom of speech.

Well, I don’t know about you but I am up to my eyeballs in this shit of having to perform this delicate and fragile dance one must do to get a point across. Fuck political correctness. When someone like Bill Bennett, or hell let’s even say Trent Lott, speaks up and the pansies get their feelings hurt they call for an apology, resignation, and then the personal attacks begin. All the while the liberals hide under their own form of free speech.

Hey listen, if you cannot take the truth being spoken then may I suggest you shut your fucking whining pie hole and move to France? Or better yet, here is a suggestion, go look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself this question, “what have I done for my country lately?” then stare into your rueful reflection and listen to the dead silence of your stupid, little, egotistical brain-challenged head.

My grandiloquence of a declamation is now over. However, it was much better the first time before Blogger decided to SCREW ME!

Technorati Tag: bad mood

Good Lord, someone help me, I have now resorted to eating pie straight from the container; no plate for me!

Can One Recover Something From Blogger?

Damn it to hell! My favorite part?

HANNITY: And I'm glad to hear you say what you said here. I want you to respond to those democrats that are grandstanding, the same ones that had Robert Byrd, the former Klansman as their leader. The ones that didn't speak out about Congressman Rangle's "Bull" Connor remark.

BENNETT: Yeah. Yeah. Well, let's see, you got Kennedy. I will — I'll not take instruction from Teddy Kennedy. A young woman likely drowned because of his negligence. I'll take no moral instruction with him. That's much worse than legal gambling what Teddy Kennedy did. He should make no judgments at all about people. He shouldn't be in the Senate. As far as racist and all this other stuff, I'll put my record up with Howard Dean, with Harry Reid.

When I was drug czar, you bet, we were working on the issue of black crime, Alan and Sean, because there was a lot of crime in the black community. And you know who most of the victims are? Their black people. Yeah, black violence — black-on-black violence is very serious. I went to about 120 inner city communities. That's where the senate wanted me to go, that's where the Senate wanted me to go, that's where I wanted to go. We went after public housing and we went after the bad guys. And you know what? We got the bad guys. And drug use went down. And we raised the price and lowered the purity of cocaine. And we arrested four of the most powerful drug dealers in the world. And got a lot of these guys off the street. And I am very proud of that. Because when we went into the inner city black community, the people said to me, Mr. Czar, or Czar, or Mr. Bennett, you get those people off the street and protect us. And we did our best to do it.

Before that, when I was secretary of education, I took on what I think is one of the great civil rights issues of our time, which is educational opportunity and educational choice. The stupid ghettoized curriculum we have, the fact that these black kids go to lousy schools and aren't allowed to choose the schools of their choice because they don't have the money and don't have the opportunity.

I've been at this for 25 years and I have been called everything in the book, but I will stay at what I do because I believe it.

Let me just tell you, when it comes to abortion, my wife's program, Best Friends, has kept more young women from having abortions because they don't get pregnant because they take her good counsel...

HANNITY: Let me...

BENNETT: Than the entire black caucus. She has done more for inner city black girls than the entire black caucus. So I will not bow my head to any of these people. I will not give up the ground of compassion and sympathy. But I'll tell you, we have real issues and we have got to talk about them candidly. And if you don't think there are people who are making draconian proposals about abortion and this and that and the other thing, you know, you don't know the nature...

Can anyone say Presidential Candidate in 2008?

And for all you morons out there who think Bennett is a racist for his radio comments regarding black abortion....he was making a FUCKING point FOR YOU! Dumbasses. His reply on Hannity and Colmes,

BENNETT: Sure. Well, the context was a radio show that I was doing yesterday, and the topic was abortion and we were talking about bad arguments in regard to abortion. A caller suggested he was opposed to abortion because he said if there were more babies there would be, eventually, more tax payers and a larger GNP, a smaller deficit. I said you want to be careful with that kind of argument because someone could postulate a situation where child's not likely to be a productive taxpayer. I said, arguments in which you take something that's far out, like the GNP and try to connect it up with abortion are tricky. I said make the case of abortion on the basis of life and protecting life. I said abortion is invoked in another way — you could make an argument that if you wanted to lower the crime rate, you saw the quote — you could practice abortion in very large numbers. You could do it in the black community. You could do it in other places. This is, by the way, the subject of a book for economics by a professor at Yale.

I said, however, if you were to practice that, widespread abortion in the black community or any other community, it would be ridiculous, impossible, and I appreciate you putting it on the screen, morally reprehensible. So I think morally reprehensible, when that is included in the quote makes it perfectly clear what my position is. A number of the people whom you have cited as condemning me have not made the inclusion of that remark, and so they make it seem, Alan, as if I am supporting such a monstrous idea, which of course I don't.

Just like idiots to take something and blow it all out of proportion. Wise up people. There is no news here, people, get off your damned soap box, move on and quit wasting the airwaves.

The American Princess has more to say on this topic. And she does a much better job of writing about it then my few knee-jerk paragraphs.

Oh, I did some quick searches; abortion statistics. You'll be surprised.

More statistics,

# Race - 63% of abortion patients are white, however, black women are more than 3 times as likely to have an abortion, and Hispanic women are 2.5 times as likely.

When I heard Bill Bennett speak last night on Hannity and Colmes I immediately thought of Stacy of Not A Desperate Housewife. If you have not been yet please check out her article on A New Racism.

Also, when I linked Stacy's article here the other day Diane commented with another wonderful article titled, Tribes, from Eject! Eject! Eject!, another must read.

The Conservative Voice has a good little read for ya this Saturday; Mary Mostert has an article up titled, Let's Pretend Mayor Nagin and Governor Blanco Were White Men.....

[....] let’s pretend for a minute that the incompetent mayor and governor were white men, instead of being black and female. If they were white men, how long would it take the media and my South African reader would be demanding that they resign for incompetence or be impeached for the anarchy instigated in what appears to be a deliberate political extortion ploy. Apparently they thought by accusing the President of "racism" the Republican Congress would give them hush money. I think they may have overplayed their hand.

WOW. Go read Sissy Willis. She talks about the Mini-NCO Academy in Iraq. The main stream media would never report such a thing. Thank you Sisu!

Please God, someone tell me this is not true, found on The Onion; Bush Braces As Cindy Sheehan's Other Son Drowns In New Orleans. OK, I will now be removing The Onion from being linked on my sidebar because this was just a sick joke, no matter what you think of Cindy Sheehan. Found this story to be FALSE via The Snope. OK, I realize I could not have posted this story but I thought I would go ahead and leave it up as an example of a misguided, warped perception of so-called humor.

Ramblings of a Regular Ron has a list of objectionable books. I swear, people have gone and lost their ever lovin' minds. Hell, let's go ahead and get rid of A Tree Grows In Brooklyn while we're at it.

Calling all wannabe big bad blog columnists, submit your work to The Rant.

TheRant.us accepts submissions from people of all avenues of thought, we just reserve the right not to print them.

The Dummocrats run in with their college picks for this week. Ranked #15 Alabama gets a nod, hell yeah! I have friends going to this game and I am so jealous. I won't be able to watch it on TV either, having to take my kiddies to their own football games and such. Ah, but is not that the sweetest?

Another reason to stamp out the U.N.

Finally, something I can maybe afford, but I'll have to "borrow" it from my children. Oh wait, I don't think this is for U.S. children. Windup? Google, Advanced Micro Devices, News Corp., Red Hat and BrightStar; got your stock yet?

Stop the presses! I have found the true guilty party behind hurricanes Katrina and Rita. No, it's NOT George W. Bush but the novelist Michael Crichton himself! That's right folks, it's his fault. Mr. Crichton goes to Washington and it's ridiculous, or is it?

And just in case they have open trackbacks this weekend, go on over to:

Jo's Cafe
My Vast Right Wing Conspiracy
basil's blog
MacStansbury
Mudville Gazette

This is just to fulfill their trackback policies, well you should read them and blogroll them too!

Are you really that bored? Try this on for size. Come on, you know you want to, I know you have it in you.

Technorati Tag: Round the reader

An Early Moonbat Masquerade

Yeah, that's right I'm posting the Moonbat Masquerade an evening early. He comes up with some outrageous quotes from Democrats such as Charles Rangel, Charles Barron, Major Owens, and of course this Masquerade wouldn't be complete without something from Kanye West. Did I just say outrageous? What was I thinking, we are talking about moonbats here.

Oh and please don't miss The Man's play by play in the comment section of his post, hilarious!

Since this Moonbat Masquerade was a tad early and you may not have gotten a chance to get in your submissions feel free to TRACKBACK them here to this post.

If you want to get in on this little party then check out the easy online fill-it-out-form over at Conservative Cat's place. I'm taking my pencil and writing him in on the 2008 Presidential voting ballot! Oh yeah you better bet this will be making the Round The Reader for Saturday!

Stacy Speaks - Listen Up Folks!

Stacy of Not A Desperate Housewife speaks very directly on a topic of A New Racism.

I would post the whole damned thing here, right now, but instead here is a little taste of her words because I want you to click over to her site!

Foul has now been called so often that its lost its meaning. Both have reached a point where what they set out to accomplish has been done, yet neither have recognized it. So in order to continue a war that no longer exist, they fabricate issues to maintain their self importance.

I think Stacy is brave for speaking up on this topic, a topic I have often thought about myself.
